Determinedly more rural than most of Palm Beach County, Loxahatchee lies 17 miles inland from West Palm Beach. Homes are built on large lots – up to 20 acres! – with plenty of room for growing families and including large estates with a lot of privacy. Loxahatchee is also home to Lion Country Safari, a popular open wildlife attraction. Loxahatchee is unincorporated, but part of the area became Loxahatchee Groves – “Florida’s Last Frontier” – in 2006.
